About Us
Palm Healthcare Foundation
As the leading public healthcare foundation in Palm Beach County, Palm Healthcare Foundation raises and distributes money to fund initiatives that advance health in our community. Our mission is to bring people together to improve health and grow and strengthen the health professions.
Far from just providing grants, the foundation is a healthcare convener, bringing people and organizations together to offer more innovative, far-reaching and efficient services than any one organization can offer on its own. Focusing on the unmet healthcare needs of our community, we believe that by filling the gaps, we make the entire system stronger.
Respecting the environment, honoring diversity, and valuing integrity, the Trustees of Palm Healthcare Foundation are the champions of collaboration and dedicated to improving access to quality healthcare for all the people of Palm Beach County.
Palm Healthcare Pavilion
The Pavilion is a collaborative effort with the State of Florida Department of Health, School District of Palm Beach County, and several South Florida academic institutions including the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing and Charles E. Schmidt College of Biomedical Sciences at Florida Atlantic University, Gregory School of Pharmacy at Palm Beach Atlantic University, and Palm Beach Community College.
How We Make A Difference
Palm Healthcare Pavilion brings together academic, health, philanthropic and government organizations to create a healthier, greater community. Our holistic approach to healing educates and empowers children, families, caregivers and medical professionals. Here’s how:
- Empowering people to live beyond diabetes: Our Diabetes Education Research Center combines research, education and treatment to confront the growing diabetes epidemic. With nearly 100,000 Palm Beach County residents who have diabetes and approximately 250,000 more at risk, we’re bringing together researchers, pharmacists, educators and nutritionists to teach children and families the best ways to care for themselves and help end America’s fastest growing disease.
- Helping special needs children thrive: By giving Children’s Medical Services (CMS) a new home, we’re enhancing its compassionate care for children with special needs. CMS offers innovative education and training to care for children with a wide range of physical and neurological challenges and provides sensitive, respectful support for their families. With a family-centered, multi-disciplinary approach, CMS empowers children and families to realize their full potential.
- Inspiring caregiver confidence: Our Apartment for Caregiver Education provides the unique opportunity to obtain hands-on experience caring for others in a furnished, home-like environment.Caregivers receive the knowledge and skills they need to safely address healthcare challenges presented by chronic medical conditions. Guided by licensed professionals, they are empowered to confidently care for their loved ones.
- Improving patient care: In our Health Professions Simulation Center, we provide an interactive, realistic setting where healthcare professionals learn to treat patients in the safest, most effective ways. By practicing on lifelike mannequins with realistic human responses, we’re reducing preventable medical errors and enhancing expertise. Participants in this “living classroom” strengthen skills, reduce response time and improve quality of care. County.
