Our Apartment for Caregiver Education provides a unique opportunity to obtain hands-on experience caring for others in a furnished, home-like environment. Caregivers practice the knowledge and skills they need to safely manage healthcare challenges presented by chronic medical conditions. Guided by licensed professionals, caregivers of alll ages are empowered to competently and confidently care for their loved ones.
Designed for the family caregiver, the Apartment for Caregiver Education is the first of its kind. Equipped with manikins and with the support of licensed professionals, family caregivers learn how to cope with their specific challenges without risk to their loved one. Caregivers also learn everyday tasks such as how to provide personal care safely and efficiently, avoid complications, and set up furniture in their home to make it more accessible for their loved one.
Assistance will also be provided to help caregivers identify additional community resources that may be helpful in order to promote wellness, safety and health protection for caregiving families.
