One in a series of hands-on classes taught by healthcare professionals at the Palm Healthcare Pavilion. Caregivers will practice skills using manikins in a simulated home-like environment.
Objectives: By the end of class the family caregiver will be able to:
1) Make a bed for an incontinent patient.
2) Demonstrate use of aids and exercises to manage incontinence.
3) State a method for proper disposal of body waste.
4) Discuss two aspects of sexuality and incontinence
5) Verbalize a potential complication associated with constipation, diarrhea and incontinence.
6) Perform the recommended hand washing technique.
